Growth and structure studies of semiconducting films CdS, ZnS and solid solutions on their basis obtained by the mechanism of layer-to-layer chemisorption from electrolyte solutions

Description

Using electron diffraction layers of ZnS, CdS as well as of their solid solutions grown on (111) facet of silicon or germanium substrates by means of layer-by-layer chemisorption from the solutions are investigated. Correlation of electrolyte solution composition with phase composition and structure of films is determined. Film growth mechanism includes adsorption of cations and anions, formation and coalescence of three-dimensional growth centres, consequent covering of the whole substrate surface by growing sulfide layer
