Description

A case of a patient with hepatic hemangioma was studied by non-invasive methods. Ultrasonography (US) and computed tomography (CT) studies were able to detect some lesions, but not ascertain the diagnosis. Planar scintigraphy both with 99mTc-sulfur colloid and with in vivo labelled RBC's did not show the lesions, while single-photon emission tomography (blood pool and sulfur colloid) pointed out their presence and allowed to achieve a correct diagnosis for the biggest lesion (2.5 cm in diameter)
