Description
By means of suitable equipment including a delay line camera and an on-line data processing system with energy coding for each photon, a preliminary study of the camera response versus energy in terms of dispersion function can explain the consequences of the choice of window on the resolution and sensitivity. Using the results of other authors on the optimization of low-energy windows based on largely subjective criteria, the kidney 197HgCl2 uptake values for a series of 25 patients were calculated in four digital windows of different widths and variable thresholds. From these results it was possible to estimate the relative error in each case and to choose a 25% window with a threshold corresponding to the photopeak maximum
Abstract (French)
A l'aide d'un materiel particulierement adapte comprenant une camera a ligne a retard et un systeme de traitement des donnees en ligne avec codage de l'energie de chaque photon, une etude preliminaire de la reponse de la camera en fonction de l'energie en termes de fonction de dispersion peut expliquer les consequences du choix de la fenetre sur la resolution et la sensibilite. En utilisant les resultats d'autres auteurs sur l'optimisation des fenetres en basse energie a l'aide de criteres le plus souvent subjectifs, les valeurs de la fixation renale au 197HgCl2, pour une serie de 25 malades ont ete calculees dans quatre fenetres digitales de largeur differente et de seuil variable. Ces resultats ont permis d'estimer l'erreur relative dans chaque cas et de choisir une fenetre de 25% dont le seuil corresponde au maximum du photopicFiles
