(π+,π+p) reaction on Ag,Br nuclei at 170 MeV

Description
The (π+,π+p) reaction on the heavy component of the photoemulsion nuclei Ag and Br at pion energy of 170 MeV has been studied. The integral cross section of the reaction has been measured, as well as the angular distributions of the residual nuclei, protons and scattered mesons. The energy spectrum of protons and the momentum spectrum of the recoil nuclei have been obtained. It is shown that the direct proton knock-out is a dominant mechanism of the reaction
