Radiation-catalytic oxidation of ammonium bisulphite by molecular oxygen in the presence of chromium(III)
Description
Characteristics of the γ-induced chain reaction between ammonium bisulphite and molecular oxygen in the presence of chromium(III) were studied. The effects of dissolved oxygen, ammonium bisulphite, pH and dose rate on the rate of oxygen consumption and radiation chemical yield of oxygen consumption were investigated and the mechanisms of both processes are discussed.
