Electron-vibrational relaxation of XeF in mixture with rare gases

Description
Relaxation of excitation energy of XeF(B, C) excimer was studied under stationary photoexcitation of Xe F2 mixtures with rare gases (He, Ar, Kr, Xe) using methods of spectroscopy and numerical simulation. Effective occupation of low vibrational levels v'=0.1 XeF(B) at low pressures of rare gases was established. The excess rotational excitation of molecules of lower vibrational XeF(B) levels, connected with the process of electron-vibrational relaxation was revealed. Numerical simulation of XeF(B,C) relaxation showed, that dissipation of excitation energy of XeF excimer proceeded most effectively in result of XeF(B↔C) interconversion. it is shown that relaxation in He can be described with the use of weak collisions. 32 refs., 6 figs., 2 tabs
