Swiss project for HLW disposal in crystalline rock

Description
Timescales for concept development and implementation of HLW disposal in Switzerland are presented. The reference concept of the 'Projekt Gewaehr' is based on burial in deep crystalline bedrock. The different barriers that warrant the safety of such a repository are discussed. There are clear indications that high safety levels are achievable
