First wall concepts with welded steel structures for NET

  • 1. Max-Planck-Institut fuer Plasmaphysik, Garching (Germany, F.R.)

Description

The progress of the First Wall (FW) design studies for the Next European Torus (NET) is summarized with emphasis on concepts with poloidal water cooling double contained in welded steel structures. For the proposed FW concepts manufacturing feasibility studies have been performed by industry, where critical manufacturing steps have been demonstrated by test specimen. (author)
