Risks of transportation of radioactive and hazardous wastes
Description
The evaluation of transportation risks follows the same procedure as many other probabilistic risk analysis; the general procedure consists of five basic steps: (1) potential accident scenarios are identified, (2) probabilities or frequencies are assigned to the elements of the accident scenarios, (3) consequences of each scenario, e.g., fatalities, are determined. (4) uncertainties and sensitivities are evaluated, and (5) results are presented in a readily understandable format. Each of these steps can be performed in various levels of detail and using different techniques
