The Stockheim-hardcoal and its disputable uranium potential

Description
In contrast to the hypothesis taken so far uranium in the Stockheim hard coal does not occur as an organic compound but as an anorganic mineral. This is predominantly pitchblende (nasturan), visible and clearly identifiable with 30 000 fold magnification. Additionally uraniferous clay minerals like illit and further secondary uranium minerals like zippeit were identified. The richest uranium-mineralization is connected with the main fault of the deposit. Hanging and lying wall of the coal seam show very low contents. (orig.)

Es werden Informationen ueber die Steinkohle und den moeglichen Uraninhalt im Stockheimer Rotliegendbecken gegeben. Das wichtigste Uranmineral ist Pechblende, die bei 30 000facher Vergroesserung unter dem Rasterelektronenmikroskop sichtbar gemacht werden kann. Eine relativ reiche Uranvererzung ist an eine Stoerungszone gebunden, waehrend das Liegende und Hangende der Floezzone nur schwach mineralisiert ist. Die kompakte Kohle mittlerer Floezbereiche ist praktisch uranfrei. (orig.)Additional details
