Calculation of the effective ranges of ions and photons in a plasma in the local electron density approximation

Description

A new approximated approach to the calculation of fast ion and radiation ranges in a hot plasma is proposed; the approach is based on the approximation of local electron density (LED). As compared to quantum-mechanical models, LED provides for a reasonable accuracy at significantly lower calculation costs
