A consideration on the gauge in the three-dimensional electromagnetic field analysis

  • 1. Tokyo Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Engineering

Description

The difficulties of the three-dimensional electromagnetic field analysis are attributed to the following two problems. One problem is the extremely large storage requirements for a finite-element discretised system. The other problem is assurance of uniqueness of the vector potential A vector in the A-φ method. Although the use of an iterative method saves the storage demands drastically, the divergence-free condition is likely to exclude the application of usual iterative solvers. In this paper, an iterative method is employed to solve the finite-element discretised system in the three-dimensional electromagnetic field problem. Treatment of the Coulomb gauge condition and compatibility with the iterative method are discussed. (author)
