Description
A generalised form of Zilsel's variational principle for the hydrodynamics of He is derived from an extended version of Lin's principle. The derivation justifies the independent variation of rhosub(n)/rho in Zilsel's principle. A relation with a recently obtained hamiltonian formalism is indicated. Complete unification of known variational principles is therefore achieved in the hydrodynamics of He II. (Auth.)
