Description
The structure of an ordered alloy of composition near Au3Cu is obtained by electron diffraction on the basis of the previous treatment. The satellites around the disordered f.c.c. spots are shown to arise from a density modulation inside each antiphase domain, connected with the departure of the alloy from stoichiometric composition. Previous explanation in terms of lattice modulation or double diffraction are discarded from intensity considerations.
