Description
By the method of Auger electron spectroscopy the influence of plastic deformation on impurity atom redistribution in the volume and grain boundaries of iron fas been studies. It is ascertained that the development of plastic deformation resultsin the accumulation of impurity atoms in near the boundary regions of grains or fragments, and also in partial dissolution of carbide phase. On the basis of performed calculations of iron-impurity atoms electronic structure it is shown, that such redistribution of impurity elements results in the formation of additional Fe-X covalent bonds in near the boundary regions and in the decrease of the part of electrons participating in metal-metal interaction, which leads to hampering of dislocation flow to the boundaries of structural elements
