Description

A description of the construction of an electron capture detector model, DNW-600, is given. The detector was provided with a 63Ni radioactive source with activity of 20 mCi. The direct current method and two pulse methods of supplying electron capture detector and corresponding measuring system are presented. The comparison of the magnitude of the detector response for the classical and the modified supply system was made on the basis of analyses of several chlorinated pesticides. Limits of detection are 0.53 pg for heptachor, 0.4 pg for aldrin, 2.6 pg for DDT, and 1.0 pg for lindane. (author)
