Canadian quality assurance program as applied to on load refuelling systems

This paper provides a perspective of Canada's Quality Assurance Standard CAN3-Z299, by a Canadian supplier, GE Canada. On load refuelling systems, used to illustrate application of the standard, are critical to the sustained operation of Ontario Hydro's CANDU Nuclear Generating Stations. GE Canada has been involved in the design and supply of commercial CANDU equipment from its inception, and involved in the development, implementation and use of this standard. The equipment, the standard and the method used by GE Canada to implement the standard and the benefits the standard has produced for the supplier and the utility are presented
