The first hundred years of nuclear power
Description
Only about the half, 50 years have been completed, but the author discussed the next half, too. In this historical and trend analysis the successes and failures of nuclear power production are overviewed. Speculations on the possible future are discussed as a controversial problem, due to several pros and cons. The presently unsolved problems regarding waste disposal, ultrahigh safety, fissile material reserves and safeguards are pointed out. The author expresses pessimism on future NPP construction. (R.P.)
