Description
A review is made of the modern state of investigations into the magnetic systems of the Tokamak devices. From the viewpoint of the Tokamak devices the principal requirements to be met by the magnetic system are elaborated, the key scientific and technological problems of the magnetic system creation are considered, as well as possible ways of solving these problems. Various approaches to designing the coils for toroidal or poloidal magnetic fields are described. From the data of projects accomplished by the present time the main parameters of the magnetic systems for both test facility and commereial Tokamak reactors are given. The problems of creating superconducting coils are considered. The main problems of constructing magnetic systems with a strong field are briefly outlined
