Investigation into anisotropy of corrosion cracking of magnesium alloys
Description
The results of investigations into the anisotropy of corrosion cracking of some types of semi-finished products from the MA 15 magnesium alloy are described. It was established that a reduction in resistance to this kind of corrosion is observed in the following series of directions: upward, transverse, and longitudinal. The anisotropy of corrosion cracking of magnesium alloys can be regarded as a result of preferential shift and accumulation of dislocations in the base planes
