Description
The development of the Syrian irradiation facility using on-line PLC system was investigated. A programmable electronic circuit was designed, programmed and connected to the control computer and PLC system. The new circuit detects and recognizes defects and their time stamp during the irradiation process. All defects information are saved into a computer file. This information will help the facility technical to fix the problem immediately thus reaching the maximum operational time which is 24 hours a day. In addition all information about the daily work, data, faults, are saved into a computer file to be reviewed and analyzed when necessary. (author)
