Aerial effluent monitoring and control at Sellafield
Description
The paper describes some of the issues surrounding the monitoring and control of aerial effluent from the Sellafield Site of British Nuclear Fuels plc in Cumbria, England. Difficulties with monitoring low concentrations of radionuclides in aerial effluent, statutory authorisation of the discharges and reporting of abnormal discharges are discussed. (author)
