Distribution of radionuclides in the silt-water system of the Kiev's water reservoir

Description

It was noted, that the basic part of contamination of the Kiev's water reservoir concentrated in silts. The existence of an inactive cerium 144 among uranium fission products allowed to compare the migration ability of radiostrontium and radiocesium in silts of the water reservoir. It was ascertained, that washout of strontium 90 from silts was considerable (40-90%). A conclusion was made that cesium 137 accumulated in silts. 2 refs.; 2 figs.; 4 tabs
