Infrared spectroscopic and X-ray studies of family of Ln2ReO5 isotype compounds

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Tonkoj Khimicheskoj Tekhnologii (USSR)

Description

The isotype compounds of Ln2ReO5 (where LnequalsCd-Lu and Y) have been obtained by the method of sintering Ln2O3 with ReO2 upon heating in an inert atmosphere (Ar) up to 900-1150 deg C. It has been established that isotype Ln2ReO5 compounds are formed by all rare earth elements in the series of Gd-Lu (with the exception of Tb) including Y. The compounds prepared have been studied by X-ray diffraction method and infrared spectroscopy. The parameters of monoclinic lattices of the Ln2ReO5 compounds have been determined. It is shown that the compounds obtained have a structure similar to that of uranates of alkaline-earth elements
