Description
Ericson's auto-correlation function C(epsilon) is generalized to cover the case in which the cross section contains several classes of overlapping doorways. The result suggests that C(epsilon) may be useful for determining the widths GAMMAsub(n) of the various doorway classes, for it exhibits a shoulder whenever epsilon approx. GAMMA, provided the widths are sufficiently different. (orig.)
