Proportional counter for Moessbauer investigation of surface layers at temperatures from 100 up to 700 K
Description
Operation of flow-type proportional counter, designed for conversion electron Moessbauer spectroscopy and detection of characteristic X-ray radiation at temperatures from 100 up to 700 K, is studied. Counter operation efficiency with the following gas mixtures: He+Co, He+CH4, Ar+CH4 - is investigated, and mixture optimal compositions for various temperatures are determined. Conversion electron Moessbauer spectra for Fe3BO6 crystals at different temperatures are measured. The obtained spectra have shown, that the proportional counter may be used to study the properties of material surface layers
