Description
Nuclear accidents that are happening more and more often in the world initiated a number of investigations in order to reduce the amount on biologically radionuclides 90 Sr and 137 Cs in human food of animal origin. In this paper it is shown how it is possible to reduce the level of 137 Cs in the dairy cow diet and consequently in the milk, by slight modifications of zeolite effects as the radioprotector in poultry. The significant reduction of 137 Cs deposition was found in the meat and edible internal organs in radio contaminated broiler chicks that received zeolite solution orally. 21 refs.; 2 tabs
