Ion-Electron Collisions in a Homogeneous Magnetic Field

Description

As the basic ingredient for calculating the energy loss of ions in magnetized electron plasmas we investigate binary ion-electron collisions in a magnetic field by a classical trajectory Monte-Carlo type numerical treatment. We discuss results concerning mainly the nonlinear, strong coupling regime at low relative velocities and, in particular, the case of an ion motion transversal to the magnetic field lines
