A PSA of LOCA scenarios in a NPP with VVER-440 type reactors

  • 1. Inst. of Atomic Energy, 05-400 Otwock-Swierk (Poland)
  • 2. Central Lab. of Radiational Protection, Konwaliowa 7, 03-194 Warsaw (Poland)

Description

As a part of PSA for the first NPP in Poland the work on accident sequence delineation is carried out. The paper presents some results on refinement of event tree model for various sizes of LOCA initiator. Brief design highlights of VVER-440 are provided to back up event tree model presentation. Supporting thermal hydraulic analyses are addressed to justifying a considerable relaxation of success criteria derived from licensing analyses. Some phenomenological issues still not resolved are discussed as a subject of further analyses
