Description

The experimental Rapsodie reactor, referenced as nuclear facility no. 25 of the CEA, is located at the CEA Cadarache site. Rapsodie was the first French FBR-type experimental reactor, commissioned in January 1967 and decommissioned in April 1983. Shutdown, dismantling and cleansing operations have started since then. Dismantling will be done in 3 steps: treatment of the residual sodium reactor vessel, cleansing of the reactor building and of the technical galleries, and dismantling of the reactor block, in particular the concrete and steel structures. This document is the dismantling application file. It comprises: the opinion of the environmental authority, the public inquiry decision and announcement, the report of the inquiry commission, the answer by the CEA to the remarks expressed in the public inquiry, the conclusions and opinion of the inquiry commission
