More than 4400 technical terms from astronomy and its technical environment are explained in keywords on 260 pages. Where pictures say more than words, one finds 96 graphics. If you want to go deeper, you can do this with the help of more than 200 formulas. Otherwise, many figures are presented, whereby a restriction to the really often asked ones was necessary. The book is not intended to be a table of figures, but merely to outline concepts in a few words. About 300 new terms found their way into the second edition. Depending on the type of object, information on distance, extent, spectral class, mass, radius and luminosity was added. Thus, this pocket book may serve as a constant companion on the road, at lectures and seminars, when reading technical articles and watching TV programs with astronomical content.
