A review of the relationship between the exposure to 50 and 60 H2 electric and magnetic fields and cancer

  • 1. Unit Tenaga Nuklear, Bangi, Selangor (Malaysia)

Description

Human beings are exposed to electric and magnetic fields at Extremely Low Frequency (ELF), either from man-made or from naturally-occuring sources. The exposure from man-made sources are mainly from the electrical transmission lines, distribution lines and use of electrical power that operate at power frequencies of 50 and 60 Hz. The exposure of humans to 50 and 60 Hz electric and magnetic fields however, are always linked with cancer incidence. The aim of this paper is to review the existing literature on exposure to 50 and 60 Hz electric and magnetic fields and their relationship with cancer
