Simulation with the RELAP/SCDAPSIM code about the total loss of electric power in the nuclear power plant of Laguna Verde

Description

In this work the results obtained with the RELAP/SCDAPSIM code of the total loss simulation of electric power are presented, Station Blackout, in the nuclear power plant of Laguna Verde under conditions of extended power increase (Ape, 2317 MWt) considering that the diesel generators of emergency fail and that the cooling system with the isolated reactor operates in intermittent form with batteries during 6 hours. It is of supposing that before the lost external energy, the reactor protection system acts, causing the sudden insert of the control bars, and that, to avoid the automatic cycle of the SR V valves, the pressure is controlled manually with a SR V valve. Once out the batteries, the SR V valve is left open in order to relief the vapor to the suppression pool, for what the level and the reactor pressure decrease; the intervention of the automatic system of the reactor depressurization is not allowed. Is supposing that the electric power does not recover in the course of the Station Blackout transitory for what the cooling systems of high and low pressures are discarded and the transitory contributes in a severe accident. The total simulation time was of 30,000. (Author)
