CPD -620 1837: a Ko III + Mira binary system
- 1. Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Cape Town (South Africa). South African Astronomical Observatory
Description
From new optical and infrared observations of the Trapezium-like system CPD -620 1837, it is shown that the faintest star (C), of spectral type M3 III, is not physically associated with the other two. Stars A and B are at the same distance and have the same radial velocities to within the errors of measurement. One of these stars (B) is a Mira variable with a period of 320 days. (author)
