Quantum theory of channeling
Description
Formulation of the theory of channeling is developed on the basis of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics. Taking into account the energy and particles transport, statistical operator for a nonequilibrium system consisting of the thermostat and fast particles (in the below-barrier and above-barrier states) is constructed. The generalized transport equations are obtained by means of averaging the equations of motion for the corresponding operators over the nonequilibrium distribution. The formalism presented is applied to analysing the dechanneling and stopping power for particles and the diffusion coefficient for electron excitations
