Description

We performed a demonstrative small-angle neutron-scattering (SANS) experiment on silver behenate using polarized neutrons at TAIKAN in the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC). Because the silver behenate contains hydrogen, it exhibits several coherent peaks with a spin-incoherent H-scattering background in the SANS profile. In this paper, we report the successful separation of nuclear-coherent from spin-incoherent scattering in soft matter using the 3He neutron spin filter. (author)
