Polarization observables for the p-d breakup reaction and the nuclear three-body force
Description
It is shown that nuclear three-body potentials involve spin operators of a type not allowed for ordinary two-body NN interactions. The effect of these operators has been studied for proton induced deuteron breakup, and it is suggested that certain polarization observables for breakup reactions with non-co-planar geometry may have an enhanced sensitivity to the three-body forces. Preliminary results from an experiment to measure the longitudinal analyzing power in non-co-planar p-d breakup are described
