Microstructure-behaviour correlation in dynamical compression -microhardness at 900 degree celsius of superalloy CMSX-2. Crystal defects

Description

Author.Ni-based single crystals of CMSX-2 superalloy have been deformed in dynamical compression at 900 oC and submitted to Vickers microhardness tests at 20 oC and 900 oC. A peculiar microstructure optimizes simultaneously the microhardness, the 0.2% elastic limit and the creep resistance. Transmission electron microscopy and numerical imaging techniques have been used to characterize some defects generated by the plastic deformation of the two phases
