Radiation-induced microwave dielectric loss in small particles of a high-Tc superconductor

  • 1. Interuniversitair Reactor Inst., Delft (Netherlands)

Description

Pulsed irradiation of a powder matrix containing small particles of DyBa2Cu3O7-x results in a dielectric loss at microwave frequencies for temperatures just below 90 K. The loss increases to a maximum value at 86.5 K and then decreases on further lowering the temperature. The transition is reproducible, has no hysteresis and develops (10 to 90%) over a temperature interval of 1.5 K. (author)
