Radiochemical studies on the extraction behaviour of some lanthanide elements

Description

Solvent extraction methods have been widely applied to the separation of lanthanide (Ln) elements. Several synergistic extraction systems for the separation of Ln have been proposed but the selectivity in the separation was found not to be sufficiently high. In the present work, the synergistic extraction behaviour of Ln3+ was investigated through two systems from nitrate medium. The first system was concerned with the extraction investigation of Pm(III) and Gd (III) from nitrate aqueous medium having constant ionic strength, 0.1(Na+,No3-), by 8-hydroxyquinoline (HOX) and / or different tertiary amines (Am≡TLA, TOA , TBA, TPA) in chloroform . the chemical formulae of the extracted organic phase species for both l
