Creators
Description
Data on nuclear power status in Japan are presented. 33 power units with total capacity of 23665 μW (el.) have operated in Japan by the begining of 1987. It is expected, that capacity comissioning at NPPs for the period from 1985 to 1995 will constitute about 13 GW. PWR and BWR type reactors are mainly used at NPPs in Japan. At early 2030 it is planned to utilize fast breeder reactors and to use as a fuel not only natural uranium, but uranium and plutonium, extracted from the spent fuels
