Experimental study on the rotating plasma of a pulse discharge

  • 1. Moskovskij Lesotekhnicheskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

Results of investigation into strongly ionized argon plasma rotating at a pulse discharge of 0.2-3 MW/l power in 10-20 kGs magnetic field are given. Spectral methods were used to determine their time dependences and the following parameters: concentration nsub(e)=(4-6)x10sup(14) cm-3, temperature Tsub(i)=15-20 eV, Tsub(e)=2 eV, ion velocity - up to 40 km/s, magnetic field reduction - to 40%. Large-scale instabilities were not detected inspite of large meanings of centrifugal acceleration v2r=5x1010 m/s2 and values msub(i)Vsub(2)/3Tsub(i)
