Description
Radioactive tracer studies have been carried out to determine Be, Ca, Cr, Fe, Li, Mn, Mo and V in ThO2 matrix after chemical separation. Tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO)/xylene was used as extracting agent in HCL medium. In addition to tracer studies the recovery of these elements was checked using Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICAP-AES) and was found to be quantitative within experimental error.
