Reaction of alkali metal borohydrides with chromium oxide during heating
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii
Description
Alkaline metal boron hydrides reduce chromium oxide at heating. The yield of reaction product versus the ratio of starting reagents and the data of chemical and roentgenophase analyses enabled to conclude the following reaction course: 2Cr2O3 + 3KBH4=3KBO2+4Cr+6H2. The starting reaction temperature is determined by the nature of alkaline metal. It increases from 250 to 430 deg C in the series of Li-Cs
