Experimental determination of parameters of the time-of-flight spectrometer resolution function
Description
The results of direct measurement of the half-width of the resolution function of a time-of-flight show neutron spectrometer DIN-1M are presented. The data are obtained on the basis of half-widths of the torsion oscillation peaks in the spectra of neutron inelastic scattering of ammonium salts. The results are compared with the dependencies of resolution function half-width on the energy calculated on the basis of the data on inelastic noncoherent neutron scattering. The calculation of the resolution function half-width is carried out for a reactor and a booster regimes of the IBR-30 reactor and a spectrometer for a wide range of initial and transmitted neutron energies. The data analysis has permitted to perform estimating calculations of the spectrometer resolution in a wide range of initial and transmitted neutron energies
