A new lanthanoid double trifluoride compound (Ersub(0.3)Ndsub(0.7))F3

Description
Abstract A new compound, (Er0.3Nd0.7)F3, in the ErF3–NdF3 system was prepared by the solid state reaction of NdF3(hexagonal LaF3-type) and ErF3 (orthorhombic YF3-type). It was found to be of an isostructure with ErF3 of the space group Pnma. Structural data are compared with those of ErF3.
