Influence of wall material on cavity absorbed dose distribution for 10 MeV X rays and 18 MeV electrons
Description
Variation of absorbed dose in LiF cavities has been studied using compressed LiF dosemeters in different media (Z = 6 to 82) irradiated with 10 MeV X rays and 18 MeV electrons. A strong front-to-rear asymmetry is observed, which increases with increased atomic number of the wall material. The asymmetry is considerably less than that resulting from 60Co gamma ray irradiation. (author)
