Description
The equation of state of U (VI) acidic solutions is proposed, by which the distributions of U (VI) species and on them effects of compositions and pH value can be calculated theoretically, based on competitive coordination chemistry and the concept of general coordination. The competition coordination means competition of coordination reactions of U (VI) ∼ sulphate with hydrolysis of soluble U (VI) and protonation of sulphate. It can be calculated and predicted that effects of component and pH on solution chemistry of U (VI) and distribution of U (VI) species by this equation of state. The results are shown (1) stabilities of U (VI) solutions are positively relative to uranium concentrations; (2) dual nuclear and polynuclear species could be eliminated when the minimum of molar ratio of carbonate to uranium (Pmim) is less than 0.05; (3) hydrolysis of U (VI) acidic solutions of 1 mol/L could be dominated when Pmim is not less than 5. 3. The uranium concentration is lower, and Pmim higher. (author)
