Description
Located respectively in the west and east of Athabasca Basin, Canada, Maybelle River and Sue C uranium deposits are both of unconformity-type mineralization which is characterized by the control of the regional unconformity, structure, strong alteration and similar age. But the latest findings of exploration and study have shown that there are obvious differences between them. Maybelle River uranium mine has a basement of strong chloritization, and the ore body is located above the unconformity; while in Sue C deposit, Cu content is higher than V and the ore body is located under the unconformity and the ore bodies are controlled by the structure more directly. This founding is significant to the further understanding of characteristics of the unconformity-type uranium deposits and the guiding of exploration practices. (authors)
