Energy and climate: an update

Details of present-day greenhouse gas contributions from various sources are presented. It is estimated that the overall result of improved data acquisition, incorporation of more factors, and better computer models, has been to reduce predicted global temperature rice to a quarter of earlier figures, so the present expectation is for a global rise of about 1 degree or less by 2050 AD due to man-made greenhouse gas emissions. Some recommendations for a practical approach to reduction of greenhouse-gas emission are given
